The group was founded in Atlanta, Georgia by Tionne "T-Boz" Watkins, Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes, and Crystal Jones, the name was 2nd Nature. The name "TLC" was based upon the first names of the original members of the group: Tionne, Lisa, and Crystal.
