Some friends of mine, when I was still in school, had a band and they were losing their bass player. And I wanted to play in a band, and I said 'I'll do it. I'll do it.' And I never really played in one before, but I was so enthusiastic, that they gave me the part and I had to pick the bass up and I learned it from there. (Dave)

- In Iraq before the fall of Saddam Hussein's government, radio referred to the band as "B-U-S-H", spelling out the name of the band so as not to seem to refer to either U.S. President, George H. W. Bush or George W. Bush.
- Nigel Pulsford left the band to spend more time with his family in 2002.
- In 2005 the band decided to drop its name because it was leading to confusion between them and George W. Bush (whom they're not quite fans of) and decided to go by the name of Institute.
