- Daughter, Sam, was born during the production of Scary Movie 3 (2003). Since the movie's initals are "SM," he and wife Denise Richards wanted a name with those two letters in it.
- Is a baseball fanatic and is extremely knowledgeable about the sport as well as past and current players.
